Making Signs

In our class we are making signs here are a few of the signs we have already made we had to paint the surface then add a thick layer of pva glue  and once it is almost dried add another layer of paint  we decided to put these signs in the garden as our legacy to leave to our school garden. I decided to make a small video of our progress here are the first signs me made.

Lupins And Mustard

Corianna taking a well earned break. Digging in the lupins and mustard into the soil. This is 'green' compost green compost is natural soil it helps plants grow after it is digged over. This was a big job but we are almost done now.

Lupin and Mustard sown in winter is right ready early spring to dig into the soil.

Lime

Here is Richard and Kaleb 'sweetening' up the soil by adding lime. You put lime the bed before digging it over. You put lime in if the pH is too high (alkaline) or too low (acidic), the plant can't absorb the nutrients that are available in the soil. They develop symptoms of nutrient deficiency, such as pale leaves and stunted growth. Using lime for acidic soil raises the pH so that plant roots can absorb the necessary nutrients from the soil.
